My dog has a fungus problem that just won’t go away

About three years ago my 2 year old King Charles Spaniel was diagnosed with fungus on his skin. At the time my vet told me to bath him in betadine, leaving on his skin for 5 minutes before shampooing him off and that seemed to help for a little while. Next I tried an antifungal cream which also helped but smelled TERRIBLE. I’ve taken him to a specialist who gave me some wipes and other medication for the condition, but nothing seems to get a good handle on this reoccurring problem.

I’m at my wits end. Can you help???

Been able to help, so your advice is VERY much appreciated! Sorry it is long...
I am writing this in the hopes someone has experience with the symptoms my dog is exhibiting. As a background, she is a 9 year old spayed female blue brindle American Staffordshire Terrier. With her recessive coat has come many skin issues. She also has urinary leakage, so she was on PPA from about the age of two, and then switched to DES at age 6. She has hip dysplasia and was on rimadyl and other meds starting at age 4 to relieve pain off and on for about 2 years, but I took her off them about 3 years ago

Our dog which is 8 has always had skin problems she has been to different vets and they have tried numerous things including cortisone shots. she gets like dandruff and her hair falls out and she really smells no matter how many baths she gets. any ideas out there?
the skin around where the hair is falling out is brown and scaly.

    • Where is the itchy skin on the dog. If it is on it's neck then maybe the collar is irritating it's neck. if you go to you can order a custom made collar for a decent price. Don't keep bathing her because it is bad for their skin. That is probably why she has dandruff. dogs always smell. my dog does too. but not giving him a bath really helps. try it
